Getting into the Sale: If you wish to avoid a long line on any particular Sale day, we suggest you line up early in the morning of that day or come later in the afternoon when the line tends to be shorter.
Bringing bags & boxes: Please bring your own reusable bags, boxes or bins. We offer bags & boxes, but they may run out later in the Sale!

Member-only
Pre-Sale
For those who join the Friends of Tompkins County Public Library at the Book Collector $100-level or above. You must join in advance. Click HERE to make your membership gift. These memberships cannot be shared. You may purchase a total of twenty-five (25) items from the main floor and seven (7) items from Collector’s Corner at the Member
Pre-Sale.
The Spring Member Pre-Sale is 5-7pm on Tuesday, April 29.
Seniors &
People with Disabilities
Day
Book enthusiasts 60 & over and people with disabilities
can shop on "Seniors & People with Disabilities Day." Your helper must stay with you and cannot shop separately.
The next Seniors & People with Disabilities Day is Wednesday, May 14, 10am-4pm.
Student
Night
Student
Night
Student Night will be held on Wednesday,
May 14, 4 - 8pm.
Students must be 16 years (or older) & show a current student ID.
Dime
Day
On the last Monday of each Sale, every item on the main floor is just a dime! That's just 10¢.
Bag
Day
Buy all the books that fit in a standard, reusable grocery bag for only $1 on Bag Day, the last Tuesday of each Sale.
Not-For-Profit
Day
On Wednesday, May 21, 2-6pm, the following groups and individuals can select items for their school or organization, free of charge: teachers, home school teachers, student teachers, clergy, & other not-for-profit organizations. Please bring proof of your affiliation with a local not-for-profit organization or a teacher ID.
